Global Education Unit
In this unit, that incorporate lessons from Thinking with Mathematical Models and Growing, Growing, Growing (from Connected Mathematics Program 2), students will understand that functions describe relationships and will be able to compare and construct a function. Students will recognize linearity in a table when constant differences between input values produce constant differences between output values. Students will establish a routine of exploring functional relationships algebraically, graphically, and numerically in tables and verbal descriptions. Students will learn that proportional relationships are part of a broader group of linear functions, with nonlinear functions for comparison.

Evaluating Curriculum for Global Competence
In the following document I evaluated an online lesson, Food Waste Investigations in Numeracy (Interdisciplinary – Geography, Social Studies, Mathematics, Global Citizenship), claiming to include global education. The four Global Education Competences and OXFAM Mathematics Global Citizenship Competence were used to evaluate the lesson.

Standards in Global Education
The following two math lessons, 7th and 8th, integrate district presented strategies and global education. Each of the two lessons include the Global Competences utilized as well as assessment using the Asia Society Rubric.
